Broadway Flea Market
One of the biggest events of the year in the Broadway community is the Annual Flea Market and Grand Auction, a fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year was only my third time attending, but it's one of my favorite days of the year. It's often the only time the online Broadway community is able to connect and meet in person, which is a big draw for me and many other people.
This year, the flea market held special importance to me, and the entirety of the Junkyard. Cats didn't have a table, but there were two boxes of stage worn shoes signed by cast members. My friends and I raided that table a number of times, but by the end of the day I went home with five pairs of shoes I could call my own!
However, the best part of the day had nothing to do with the flea market itself. It served as the perfect day for a Junkyard meetup, since so many of us would be in the city at the same time. And we had a plan that required as many of us to be there as possible. So at 4:30, when the matinee performance of Cats finished, we met up at the theatre. I won't share now what we did, because I want it to be a surprise (stay tuned at the end of October!), but perhaps you can guess from a selection of pictures...

As for what went on at the Neil Simon... well, you'll just have to wait and find out!
